Overview
- Multisystem disorder (most commonly lungs, skin, and eyes) characterised by non-caseating granulomatous (no central necrosis) inflammation which deposit around the body
- Diagnosis of exclusion of granulomatous lung diseases, including tuberculosis
- F>M, 10x more likely in African-Americans, bimodal peak incidence 25-35 yrs old and 50-65 yrs old
- Aetiology → unknown, however hypotheses suggest genetic, immunological, and infectious causes

Making Diagnosis
Clinical Features:
- Chronic Dry Cough
- Dyspnoea
- Erythema Nodosum → rash on shin
- Lymphadenopathy (typically cervical & submandibular nodes)
- Lupus Pernio → rash on face, nose, ears
- Chronic Fatigue
- Arthralgia (pain in knees, ankles & wrists)
