Investigations

O&G

• Bedside → examinations: abdominal, speculum, bimanual. Observations. Urine: dip, pregnancy.
• Bloods → FBC, G&S, Cross-Match, Serum b-HCG.
• Imaging → mother: TVUSS. Foetus: foetal ultrasound, doppler, CTG.

Paediatrics

• Bedside → examinations: top-to-toe exam (with specific system focus), hydration status, growth chart. Observations, ECG. Urine or Stool sample.
• Bloods → septic screen bloods (FBC, CRP, Cultures, VBG for Lactate, LP).
• Imaging → CXR, Abdominal USS, CT Head (Abuse?).

Psychiatry

• Bedside → collateral history, questionnaires, examination (to risk assess), urine drug screen.
• Bloods → organic causes: FBC (anaemia), U&Es (hypercalcaemia), TFTs (hypothyroidism). Drug tests.
• Imaging → CT/MRI Head to investigate dementia.
