Investigations
O&G
- Bedside → examinations: abdominal, speculum, bimanual. Observations. Urine: dip, pregnancy.
- Bloods → FBC, G&S, Cross-Match, Serum b-HCG.
- Imaging → mother: TVUSS. Foetus: foetal ultrasound, doppler, CTG.
Paediatrics
- Bedside → examinations: top-to-toe exam (with specific system focus), hydration status, growth chart. Observations, ECG. Urine or Stool sample.
- Bloods → septic screen bloods (FBC, CRP, Cultures, VBG for Lactate, LP).
- Imaging → CXR, Abdominal USS, CT Head (Abuse?).
Psychiatry
- Bedside → collateral history, questionnaires, examination (to risk assess), urine drug screen.
- Bloods → organic causes: FBC (anaemia), U&Es (hypercalcaemia), TFTs (hypothyroidism). Drug tests.
- Imaging → CT/MRI Head to investigate dementia.
